Seriously France?

Good day Cyber-Space,

As I'm well aware a good majority of people don't follow current affairs anymore. For all of you that missed it, France has passed a law making it illegal for Muslim women to wear a burqa (full-body covering worn by some Muslim women) or a niqab (face veil) in public. The French Senate has also decided that this law is constitutional.

Am I the only person that see's something wrong with this? When did it become O.K. for a government to regulate a religious practice that has been going on since before most modern religions existed? I do understand that many people will say it has to do with women's right and women's equality but what about all of the traditional Muslim women that wear it by choice? Even in modern day America you will find women that were born and raised in America and still choose to wear this traditional attire, not forced too. It's not like we are talking about slavery of the Jews because that was tradition in Egypt thousands of years ago. Since then we have evolved as a whole (at least I hope we did) and realized that enslaving another person is morally wrong. Then again I feel the best argument anyone can make for this ban is forcing women to dress this way is a form of slavery. I completely agree with this and I understand that this is true and does happen. But what about all the French-Muslim women that were protesting this law while wearing a burqa? Do you think an extreme traditional Muslim man would allow a woman to go into the streets by herself and protest? No they wouldn't and if you know anything about Muslim extremest's you will agree with me.

So to enforce this law the French government has set a 150 Euro fine for any woman that wears a niqab in public and a one year prison sentence or 15,000 Euro fine for any woman wearing a burqa.
WTF France?

I look forward to hearing anyone's opinion on this.

Until Next Time,
Kyle

WHY?!?

Hello there cyber-space,
So the biggest question is, why start a blog? I have a simple answer to that, I wanted too. Now for the more complex version; I have often discouraged people from posting their life on the internet (all of you that post every event in your life on facebook) so I assure you this is not what my blog will be. I want to start recording all of my opinions on whatever I feel like at the time. Whether it is politics, religion, current events, or just something I find amusing. As well as all the crazy theories I come up with on a day to day basis. I hope to hit all the topics that are normally on peoples "Lets not talk about that" list. Feel free to debate and argue anything I post on here, though if the only argument you have is "You're wrong because I said so" keep it to yourself. Actually use some kind of semi-intelligent argument to make your point.

Until next time,
Kyle
